Member Benefits and Entitlements
Caribbean Veterans Association (CVA) members receive a range of benefits designed to enhance their well-being, foster camaraderie, and provide professional and personal support. Membership grants access to networking opportunities with fellow Caribbean veterans, mentorship programs, and exclusive events that celebrate military heritage and achievements. Additionally, members can participate in educational initiatives, including scholarship opportunities for their children, financial assistance through the benevolent fund, and career development programs. CVA also provides advocacy support, connecting veterans with resources for healthcare, legal aid, and community outreach programs. Through membership, individuals become part of a strong and supportive organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Caribbean veterans and empowering them for future success.
General Membership is ideal for personnel of Caribbean-born or first or second-generation descent who are on active duty or veterans who wish to engage with CVA on an annual basis and remain actively involved in its programs and initiatives. General Members receive a digital membership certificate, along with voting rights in accordance with the bylaws. They have access to networking events, professional development workshops, and community service initiatives, and receive member-only communications such as newsletters and announcements. General Members are also given priority notification regarding scholarships, veteran resources, and partner opportunities, and are eligible to serve on committees. General members are eligible to volunteer in CVA programs, fundraising initiatives, scholarship events, and outreach efforts. Annual dues are recommended at a modest rate to ensure accessibility while sustaining organizational operations. Dues must be paid on time to be financially current.
Lifetime Membership is ideal for Caribbean-born or first or second-generation individuals who are committed to CVA’s long-term vision and legacy. Lifetime Members receive all the benefits of General Membership, with additional exclusive privileges. These include a ceremonial, framed Lifetime Member certificate; a distinctive Lifetime Member insignia, such as a lapel pin and permanent recognition on the CVA website and in printed programs at major events. Lifetime Members may receive complimentary or VIP access to select CVA events and are given priority consideration for leadership roles, advisory councils, and ambassador or regional director positions. They receive priority seating and are formally recognized at major ceremonies, galas, and scholarship events, enjoy permanent membership status with no annual dues, and are invited to participate in roundtables and special briefings. Lifetime Membership is offered as a one-time contribution, reflecting a lasting investment in the organization’s future. Lifetime members are eligible to volunteer in CVA programs, fundraising initiatives, scholarship events, and outreach efforts. These members have voting rights.
Associate Membership is ideal for Caribbean-born, first or second-generation individuals, wives, husband, children of General and Lifetime members, allies, and community partners who believe in the Association's mission, vision, and programs and wish to actively support them. This membership category allows individuals who did not serve in the military but are committed to uplifting Caribbean-born veterans and their families to be meaningfully engaged in CVA’s work. Associate Members receive an official CVA Associate Membership certificate. They receive regular member communications, including newsletters and organizational updates, and are eligible to volunteer in CVA programs, fundraising initiatives, scholarship events, and outreach efforts. Associate Members can participate in subcommittees, or special projects that support the Association’s goals. While Associate Members do not hold voting rights on organizational governance matters or eligibility for elected board positions, they play a vital role as advocates for CVA within the broader community. Dues must be paid on time to be financially current.
Honorary Membership is ideal for military personnel, community/political leaders, and family members who have made
notable contributions to the cause of Caribbean veterans. They are nominated by any general or lifetime member and approved by a majority of the members. These members do not have voting rights unless they qualify as regular members.
